You send push notifications from the Push Notifications section in the TMSQR App Manager. A push notification has up to 135 characters, and you can send it right away or schedule it for later.
Available in: all plans (Platform and Standalone)
How do I send a push notification?
Log in to the TMSQR App Manager and click Push Notifications in the menu.
Choose where the push notification links to: your homepage, a news item, an artist page or an info page.
Choose whether to send the push notification right away or at a set date and time.
Write your message of up to 135 characters and click Send.
Your app users now receive the push notification on their phone. A scheduled push notification goes out automatically at the time you set, in the time zone of your app.
How long can a push notification be?
A push notification has a maximum of 135 characters. The TMSQR App Manager doesn't let you type more, so your message is never cut off. A push notification has no separate title: the name of your festival shows as the sender.
How do I link a push notification to a news, program or info item?
When you create a push notification, choose what it links to: your homepage, a news item, an artist page or an info page. Visitors who tap the push notification open that page in your TMSQR app. For example, link a line-up announcement to the artist page of your headliner.
Can I change or cancel a scheduled push notification?
You can cancel a scheduled push notification, but you can't edit it. To change a scheduled push notification, cancel it and create a new one.
Who receives my push notifications?
Push notifications go to everyone who uses your app, unless they switched notifications off.
Note: Visitors who open your event through your unique promolink get push notifications switched on automatically. They can switch them off at any time.
Where can I find push notifications I sent before?
In the TMSQR App Manager: go to Push Notifications to see an overview of all push notifications you have sent.
In your app: tap the bell icon in the top right corner of the homescreen to see earlier push notifications. This also works for visitors who switched push notifications off.
When should I use a scheduled push notification?
A scheduled push notification is useful for announcements you know in advance. Prepare them in a quiet period, so you don't forget anything during the festival. For urgent updates, such as a weather warning or a schedule change, send the push notification right away.
Examples of push notifications you can schedule in advance:
"Just 1 week to go until the festival! See you soon!"
"Only 24 hours left until the festival begins. We look forward to welcoming you!"
"Check out our festival merchandise: T-shirts, tote bags and caps are waiting for you."
"Don't forget to pick up your earplugs at the info desk. Enjoy the music safely!"
"Good morning! Are you ready for another great festival day?"
What if a visitor doesn't receive my push notification?
Ask the visitor to check that notifications for the app are switched on in their phone settings. Visitors can always find your push notifications under the bell icon on the homescreen. Still not working? Contact TMSQR support at [email protected].
